T1 The figure of the film explainer in silent films

AB Los  orígenes  de  la  cinematografía  están  marcados  por  la  presencia  de  la  oratoria:  la  figura  del  explicador  de  cine  mudo  surge  de  manera  casi  inmediata  a  las  primeras  exhibiciones  en  sala  para  atender  las  demandas  de  los  primeros  espectadores  cinematográficos.  Estos  profesionales  narraban  los  acontecimientos  de  las  películas,  pero  también  se  encargaban  de  interpretar  las  mismas  por  medio  de  recursos lingüísticos, vocales y gestuales. Como oradores y artistas del espectáculo, lograron instruir a los espectadores en el lenguaje cinematográfico a la vez que les entretenían, llegando a tener gran éxito y ser personalidades reconocidas. Sin embargo, y a pesar de su relevancia en los primeros años del séptimo arte, los  explicadores  de  cine  mudo  no  son  conocidos  por  la  mayor  parte  de  los  públicos.  Por  ello,  la  presente  investigación, busca definir y contextualizar esta figura dentro de la historia del cine, vincular los orígenes y características el explicador con la oratoria y visibilizar su trabajo, que mucho tuvo que ver con el desarrollo de la narrativa y la puesta en escena cinematográfica.
AB The origins of cinematography are marked by the presence of oratory: the figure of the silent filmexplainer arose almost immediately after the first screenings in cinemas to meet the demands of the first filmspectators. These professionals narrated the events of the films, but also interpreted them through linguistic,vocal and gestural resources. As speakers and entertainers, they succeeded in instructing viewers in the language of film while entertaining and became highly successful and well-known personalities. However, despite their relevance in the early years of the seventh art, silent film explainers are not known to mostaudiences. For this reason, this research seeks to define and contextualize this figure within the history of cinema, to link the origins and characteristics of the explainer with oratory and to make visible his work, which had a lot to do with the development of narrative and cinematographic staging
