AB Este artículo analiza las diferentes estrategias que ponen en juego los profesionales de la intervención social de la Comunidad de Madrid, principalmente de los trabajadores sociales, en relación a la aplicación de una política social concreta, la Renta Mínima de Inserción, con el colectivo de etnia gitana español. Se describen aquellas estrategias más duras o coercitivas y se ponen en relación con la ambigüedad de la definición de la exclusión social tanto en los textos que regulan la prestación como en los discursos profesionales. Para terminar, se realiza un cuestionamiento crítico sobre la falta de herramientas de intervención social fuera de las lógica de la obligatoriedad y de la contraprestación, cuestionándose así cómo la intervención profesional pone en entredicho la idea de derecho a la protección social, y se señala el vacío de metodologías que vayan más allá de las proporcionadas por la institución y por sus instrumentos burocráticos.
AB This article analyzes the strategies utilized by professionals within the social intervention network in Madrid, specifically those of social workers belonging to Social Services in Madrid, in their application of the Basic Income Guarantee policy (Spanish: Renta Mínima de Inserción Social) to the Spanish Gipsy population. It describes the most coercive strategies and compares them to the ambiguity of the definition of social exclusion in the regulations that govern service delivery as well as in professional discussions. The article closes by critically questioning the lack of social intervention tools aside from those that tend to impose participation upon the beneficiaries of the policy and reflects how professional intervention prejudges the idea of the right to social protection and points out the lack of methodologies which go beyond those offered by the institution and its bureaucratic means.
