%X Efforts to understand cold climates began toward the end of 18th century, and they are still alive. During this time, a varied quantity of hypotheses from the astronomical, geological and biological fields have been put forward, which attest to a high-complexity, perhaps multi-causal topic. A topic with a dramatic profile, since we have learnt that climate can change very quickly, and modern man has appeared near the end of a glacial period which could well be very near its end. %~
