%X El presente trabajo pretende remarcar la importancia del factor tiempo en el hecho participativo de los jóvenes y las jóvenes en la sociedad, a fin de tomar en mayor consideración tal elemento en el escenario socioeducativo actual. El trabajo desvela cómo la participación ejercida por la juventud en las cuestiones sociopolíticas viene, en parte, mediada por la dimensión temporal. Este trabajo surge a partir del estudio realizado dentro del proyecto interuniversitario de investigación colaborativa CITADEL “Smart Citizens for participatory cities” Ref.SMART01/2017-18 y su continuación en 2019/20 incluido en convocatoria de la Ibero-American Universities Union en el que han participado 4 países de las 5 universidades pertenecientes a la IUU (UNAM-Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UBA-Universidad de Buenos Aires, USP-Universidade de São Paulo, UB-Universitat de Barcelona y UCM-Universidad Complutense de Madrid). Dicho proyecto se centra en el estudio de la brecha existente entre la experiencia cívica de los jóvenes en la educación formal y su vida en el entorno ciudadano. Para ello se apoya en sendas investigaciones realizadas por los equipos de las universidades citadas, a través de trabajos de campo basados en el grupo focal para la obtención de datos de los distintos contextos a los que pertenecen las cinco instituciones participantes. El estudio, entre otros aspectos en los que ya se han basado parte de los trabajos publicados por las cinco universidades, pone de manifiesto la relevancia de la dimensión temporal en la participación de la juventud iberoamericana en el ámbito sociopolítico, tal y como se desarrolla en este artículo.
%X This work aims to highlight the importance of the time dimension in the participation of young people in society, in order to take this element into greater consideration in the current socio-educational scenario. The work reveals how the participation exercised by youth in sociopolitical issues is, in part, mediated by the temporal dimension. This work arises from the study carried out within the CITADEL interuniversity collaborative research project “Smart Citizens for participatory cities” Ref.SMART01 / 2017-18 and its continuation in 2019/20 included in the call of the Iberoamerican Universities Union in which 4 countries of the 5 universities belonging to the IUU have participated (UNAM-National Autonomous University of Mexico, UBA-University of Buenos Aires, USP-University of São Paulo, UB-University of Barcelona and UCM-Complutense University of Madrid). This project focuses on the study of the gap between the civic experience of young people in formal education and their life in the citizen environment. For this, it is supported by research carried out by the teams of the aforementioned universities, through field work based on the focus group to obtain data from the different contexts to which the five participating institutions belong. The study, among other aspects on which part of the works published by the five universities has already been based, highlights the relevance of the temporal dimension in the participation of Iberoamerican youth in the sociopolitical sphere, as it is developed in this paper.
