RT Book, Section T1 Intelligent method of identification of the sea state number: an application of the support vector machine A1 Andrés Toro, Bonifacio de A1 Fernández Blanco, P. A1 Cruz García, Jesús Manuel de la A1 Recas Piorno, Joaquín AB In present work Support Vector Machine Theory (SVC) has been applied to the sea state number (SSN) identification problem. The detection of the changes of tile SSN is of vital importance to be able to adapt the controllers who are in charge to maintain the stability of a high-speed ship. This detection must take place quickly, so that the controllers act as soon as possible on tile ailerons of the ship. There is improved this way its stability and tile well being of the passengers, anticipating and avoiding the abrupt movements and the motion sicknesses.
