Esto ha generado un incremento de estudios dirigidos fundamentalmente a la prevención e intervención en el ámbito de violencia contra la mujer en la relación de pareja. Sin embargo, aun teniendo cada vez más en cuenta la importancia de aspectos sociales en la etiología de dicha violencia, no se cuenta con suficientes instrumentos de medida que permitan objetivar la influencia de variables sociales en este problema.
