<mods:abstract>PURPOSE: to study the effect of blue filters of specific wavelengths on ERG responses and circadian activity (CA) in the pigmented and albino mouse. Blue light has been shown to induce a retinal damage in the albino mice, which determines significant decrease of retinal light responses. As an attempt to reduce light damage, we have tested the protective effect of light filters in the 400-500 wavelength rage on light sensitivity. However, maximum sensitivty of ipRGCs also range in the blue spectrum. Since ipRGC seem to be important for the animal circadian activity, we wonder if blue filters may also affect the circadian activity in animals exposed to light damage.</mods:abstract>
