El cáncer de pulmón es una enfermedad de alta prevalencia. Actualmente el tratamiento más efectivo es una resección de tejido pulmonar, a través de la cirugía torácica. Los drenajes han pasado de mantener inmovilizado durante días a los pacientes, a drenajes digitales que pueden incluso utilizarse en el domicilio del paciente. En la presente tesis el drenaje digital adquiere una importancia fundamental, porque cuantifica el drenaje de líquido y del aire tras la intervención. La cuantificación del drenaje aéreo se denomina fuga aérea postquirúrgica. La fisioterapia respiratoria es también parte importante en el proceso de tratamiento del cáncer de pulmón de forma quirúrgica. Ha evolucionado y se ha transformado, con mayor evidencia científica. En la actualidad en la mayoría de los hospitales se realizan tratamientos de fisioterapia respiratoria postquirúrgicos, pero en pocos centros se realiza tratamiento de fisioterapia respiratoria preoperatorio. No existen estudios que consensuen cuáles deberían ser las técnicas pre y postoperatorias, ni los días de intervención...Lung cancer is a disease with great prevalence. Currently, the most effective treatment is a resection of the pulmonary tissue by means of thoracic surgery. Drainage has changed from keeping patients immobilised for days to digital drainage that can even be used in the patient’s home. In this thesis digital drainage acquires a fundamental importance, because it quantifies the drainage of liquid and of air after the intervention. The quantification of the air drainage is called postoperative air leak. Respiratory physiotherapy is also an important part in the process of the surgical treatment of lung cancer. It has evolved and has been transformed, with greater scientific evidence. Now in the majority of hospitals postsurgical respiratory physiotherapy treatments are performed, but there are few centres that do preoperative respiratory physiotherapy.
