El presente trabajo de investigación pretende analizar la relación entre La muerte de Arturo de sir Thomas Malory y una selección de obras específicas de los últimos cincuenta años que, basadas en dicha obra, han buscado realizar una traducción actualizada para el público contemporáneo. Esta tesis busca estudiar los efectos de la aplicación de las diferentes teorías de traducción –intertextualidad, intersemiótica, remediación y transposición– con objeto de descubrir si reflejan rasgos característicos e íntimamente subjetivos y cómo dichos rasgos afectan en la labor de traducción y de adaptación en Los Hechos del Rey Arturo y sus nobles caballeros de John Steinbeck, Excalibur de John Boorman y Rey Arturo: la leyenda de Excalibur...This thesis aims at analysing the relationship among Le Morte d’Arthur by sir Thomas Malory and a selection of specific works from the last fifty years which, based on the aforementioned book, have tried to make an updated translation for the contemporary audience. This thesis aims at studying the effects of the application of the different translation theories –intertextuality, intersemiotics, remediation and transposition– in order to find out if they reflect characteristics and closely subjective traits of the authors who decided to take over sir Thomas Malory and how these traits influence their task of translation and adaptation in John Steinbeck’s The Acts of King Arthur and His Noble Knights, John Boorman’s Excalibur and Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword...
