<dcterms:abstract>This chapter aims to present an evolutionary perspective in the historical analysis of families in business in the world between 1949 and 2023, with a bibliometric methodological approach, and using a database of 513 published works from a sample of relevant journals and books specialized in this field of research. The study contributes to analyze the stages in the life cycle of research production related to family business history and to present a compilation of authors and titles from which future analysis will be able to compare more thoroughly key issues, scholars, and debates.</dcterms:abstract>
