RESUMEN: En este estudio se examinan los usos y valores de los marcadores discursivos franceses «tu vois»/«vous voyez», desde un enfoque contrastivo con relación a «ves»/«ve usted»/«veis» en español. El estudio empírico se fundamenta en un número considerable de ocurrencias extraídas de los corpus en francés y español de la base de datos de «Sketch Engine». Un primer enfoque, distribucional, arroja luz sobre las preferencias de uso de ambos marcadores, a la vez que revela que están ya forjados como tales en mayor proporción en francés que en español. El análisis semántico-pragmático muestra que, si bien los marcadores operan todos a nivel metadiscursivo, expresan una actitud o comentario del locutor sobre su propio discurso y transmiten una demanda de adhesión, en ciertas acepciones se establece una función de conexión y encadenamiento discursivo entre dos segmentos del discurso.
ABSTRACT: This study examines the uses and values of the French discourse markers “tu vois”/”vous voyez”, with a contrastive approach relating to “ves”/”ve usted”/”veis” in Spanish. The empirical study is based on a considerable number of occurrences in the French and Spanish corpora of the Sketch Engine database. A first approach, distributional, sheds light on the preferences of both markers, while revealing that they are already forged as such in a higher proportion in French than in Spanish. The semantic-pragmatic analysis shows that, while the markers all operate at the metadiscursive level, expressing an attitude or commentary of the speaker in his own discourse and conveying a demand for adherence, in certain cases they establish a connecting function and a discursive chain between two discourse segments.
