00925njm 22002777a 4500 dc Francisco Olmos, José María De author 2018 En este trabajo se estudiará la figura de Felipe Guillermo de Neoburgo, que en la segunda mitad del siglo XVII se convirtió en el primer suegro de Europa, casando a sus hijas con los principales soberanos de Europa, gracias a la idea de que su familia era especialmente fértil y sus mujeres proclives a tener muchos hijos. Además veremos como sus hijos varones alcanzaron también los más altos rangos eclesiásticos y militares, siempre en alianza estrecha con la Casa de Austria, que en estos momentos estaba muy cercana a su extinción, tanto en su rama de Madrid como en la de Viena. Por último veremos cómo tras esta primera generación, los varones de la Casa de Neoburgo se extinguen, y será a través de las hijas como se irán formando alianzas con las ramas menores de su familia para conservar unido el patrimonio familiar y al final unir toda la herencia de los dos Electores de la Casa de Wittelsbach This paper studies Phlip William of Neoburg, who, in the first half of 17th century, became the first Europe’s «father-in-law», marrying her daughters with the major sobereings of Europe with the premise that his family was really fertile and the women of the family were prone to have lots of children. It studies too how his sons achieved the highest ecclesiastic and military ranks, always close connected with the Austria House, near its own extintion on that period, both in its Madrid and Vienna branches.
