Las principales normas del sistema nicaragüense de Derecho internacional privado se encuentran dispersas en distintos códigos internos de principios del siglo XX, que conviven y pueden verse desplazados por los escasos Convenios internacionales que en materia de Derecho internacional privado ha suscrito Nicaragua. La configuración del sistema y sus principales postulados resultan insuficientes para dar una respuesta articulada y uniforme a los problemas actuales de tráfico jurídico externo. Esto, junto a las expectativas de crecimiento comercial y económico de Nicaragua, hacen que el país sea uno de los mejor situados en el Caribe para adoptar la Ley Modelo de la OHADAC como como referente y guía para la configuración de su sistema de Derecho internacional privado.The Nicaraguan system of Private International Law is dispersed throughout different
internal codes of the early twentieth century, which could be substituted by the few international Conventions
on Private International Law to which Nicaragua has subscribed. The system’s configuration
and its main statements are insufficient to give a uniform and coordinated response to the current problems
of the external legal traffic. This, combined with the expectations of growth in trade and investment
in Nicaragua, make the country one of the best situated in the Caribbean to adopt the OHADAC’s
Model Law as reference for its system of Private International Law.
