Atenas, referente en la tutela del patrimonio arqueológico, ha sido objeto de análisis desde la disciplina arquitectónica debido a la construcción del Nuevo Museo del Acrópolis. En esta comunicación se examina la repercusión del nuevo museo a nivel patrimonial, social y urbano realizando una comparativa con el antiguo museo, sus características, modelo de gestión, surgimiento y la vinculación de éste con las áreas arqueológicas en las que se enclava; la situación actual de está interacción; las modificaciones con respecto al antiguo museo del Acrópolis. Por último se presentan una serie de proyectos, realizados posteriormente, como alternativa al museo ya construido.
Athens and its protection of the archaeological heritage have been analyzed from the discipline of architecture due to the construction of the New Acropolis Museum. This
paper will examine the impact of the new museum from a heritage, social and urban approach whilst performing a comparison with the old museum. It will look into its
characteristics, the management model, and the emergence whilst linking it with the archaeological areas in which it is located; the current interaction situation; and the
changes over the old Acropolis museum. There are also a series of projects presented that were subsequently performed as an alternative to the built museum.
