From the authors' text: "In the present paper we propose the framework of semimodule categories and their subcategories as a suitable common framework for various automata and control theories, including in particular those of deterministic, stochastic, nondeterministic, partial, relational, bilinear and fuzzy sequential machines as well as switching networks. New relationships between all these classes of systems appear naturally in this common framework.
