Microsponge Delivery System (MDS) is a unique technology for controlled delivery of drug. The present review introduces Microsponge technology along with its synthesis, characterization and release mechanism of MDS. Wide ranges of applications are also suggested to develop cosmetic products with enhanced safety and efficacy.
