These individuals stood out for their ability to raise their social prestige in the public sphere, amidst the complex reasons of dynastic loyalty. The future of these meteoric careers, not exempt from difficulties in establishing themselves in power, will be uneven. The success of perpetuating oneself in the power elite and achieving the continuity of the lineage at the top of the monarchy was complex. This was the case of a large number of Austrian exiles who placed themselves at the service of Charles III/VI of Austria and in particular of Don Ramón de Vilana Perlas, Marquis of Rialp, the subject of this study (c. 1663-1741).La Guerra de Sucesión española y las décadas siguientes permiten profundizar en el análisis del proceso de ascenso social y político que protagonizaron determinados personajes en esta etapa. Estos individuos destacaron por su capacidad para elevar su prestigio social en la esfera pública, en medio de las complejas razones de lealtad dinástica. El devenir de estas carreras meteóricas, no exentas de dificultades para afianzarse en el poder, será desigual. El éxito para perpetuarse en la élite del poder y lograr la continuidad del linaje en el vértice de la monarquía resultó complejo.
