It is shown both theoretically and experimentally that, after a single aberrated lens, it is possible to get flatter and sharper beam intensity distributions than the input gaussian beam depending on the plane where the field is observed. Agreement between analytical and experimental results is discussed.Sharpness changes of gaussian beams induced by spherically aberrated lensesjournal articlehttp://dx.doi.org/10.1016/0030-4018(94)90016-7http://www.sciencedirect.com/metadata only access535Partially Coherent BeamsABCD Optical-SystemsParametric CharacterizationQuality ImprovementPropagationÓptica (Física)2209.19 Óptica Física
