González Ponce) and “La mitografía antigua: fuentes orales y escritas” (PID2021‐122594NB‐I00; PI Jordi Pàmias).ABSTRACT: Taking the study of Luppe on the Herculanean “disegno N” 242 I as a starting point, this article suggests new readings and new proposals to reconstruct the missing parts of the text. Our interpretation facilitates establishing a textual relationship between the papyrus and Aeschylus’ “Phorcides”. Furthermore, it allows appreciating the existence of a mythical and literary tradition that placed the Gorgons in Hades, coherent with other extant pieces of information about Aeschylus’ work, and a possible testimony of a “katabasis” of Perseus.engThe Gorgons in Hades : on the literary references of the Herculanean "disegno N" 242 Ijournal articlehttps://cispe.org/abstracts-cronache-ercolanesi-54-2004/https://edizionicispe.it/https://cispe.org/cronache-ercolanesi/embargoed access003.07282‑343=140.09GorgonsGraeaeHadesAeschylusAegimiusFilología griegaEpigrafíaMitología (Historia)5505.09 Papirología5505.10 Filología5101.07 Mitos
