Por un lado hemos establecido el objetivo de realizar un estudio sobre el arte de los 80’, comprobando si realmente existió un movimiento afín en aquella época y definiendo sus características tanto estéticas como conceptuales e históricas. Por otro, hemos analizado la presencia arquitectónica y urbana en las obras de arte creadas en el periodo a estudiar (1976-1992), investigando sobre su origen, su significado, su importancia estética y sus influencias. La metodología utilizada ha pretendido buscar una serie de elementos objetivos, huyendo de los recuerdos nostálgicos o interesados de los protagonistas y fijándonos en los hechos tal y como acontecieron en su momento, por lo que los catálogos de las exposiciones, las declaraciones de los artistas en el momento de la creación de las obras y la literatura crítica coetánea han sido las principales líneas de trabajo, aunque la observación pormenorizada de las obras de arte y el análisis de sus múltiples referencias históricas, estilísticas, artísticas y estéticas han sido absolutamente fundamentales...This investigation attempts to prove that the renewal of arts, especially Painting and Sculpture, that took place after dictatorshiṕs period in Spain, this means, during the “Transición”, was, at least partly, a consequence of an artistśinterest in the representation of the urban area and architectural figurations. On the one hand, we have set the goal of carrying out a research about arts in the 80́s, by checking whether such a movement did actually exist at that time and by defining its aesthetic, conceptual and historical features. On the other hand, we have analyzed the architectonic and urban presence in the artworks created between 1976-1992, by doing a research on its origin, significance, aesthetic importance and influences. The methodology has tried to find out a series of objective elements, avoiding nostalgic memories from the protagonists and focusing on the facts the same way they occurred at that time. Therefore, the exhibition catalogues, the artists’ statements and the coetaneous critical literature have been the main work procedures. However, a detailed observation of artworks and the analyse of its historical, stylistic, artistic and aesthetic references has been absolutely essential.
