We find that the icosahedral quasilattice is metastable with respect to the hard-sphere crystal structures. Our results agree with recent findings by McCarley and Ashcroft [Phys.Rev. B 49, 15 600 (1994)] carried out using the modified weighted density approximation.engStability of the Hard-Sphere Icosahedral Quasi-Latticejournal articlehttp://dx.doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevB.52.13269http://prb.aps.org/open access536Quasi-crystalsAl0.86Mn0.14DiffractionOrderTermodinámica2213 Termodinámica
