Electrons and holes are confined by the parabolic potential of the quantum wire. An exactly solvable model is introduced for calculating the exciton binding energy, replacing the actual Coulomb interaction between the electron and the hole by a projective operator.engExciton states and optical absorption in quantum wires under laser radiationjournal articlehttp://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.physleta.2010.03.029http://www.sciencedirect.comopen access538.9Well WiresFísica de materialesFísica del estado sólido2211 Física del Estado Sólido
