In postcolonial contexts, heritagisation may encompass memories, places, voices of multiple collective subjects bringing up a frame to make visible diverse identities and different practices of resistance to the colonial system other than the hegemonic narratives. This chapter discusses a case of recent heritage-making around independence, decolonisation and nation-building in Casa de la Libertad (Sucre, Bolivia), the first historical monumental place of Bolivia in a UNESCO World Heritage City.
