As a result, research groups on paremias were created in Spanish universities and the world’s first PhD-programme on paremiology and phraseology was launched. This has led to the supervision of many doctoral theses on the subject, and a large number of research projects and teaching innovation projects on paremias, that have been and are still being carried out.
