No entanto, as divergências entre os estados-membros colocam vários entraves à construção de uma política global e coerente no seio da UE, a que se soma o crescente populismo e xenofobia no espaço comunitário, e que se reflete na adoção de medidas cada vez mais restritivas por parte de alguns estados-membros. Através da análise da resposta da União e dos seus membros a esta crise, concluímos que a resposta europeia resulta de acordos minimalistas entre os estados-membros.The international refugee crisis is directly affecting the European Union (EU), which entered a ‘crisis’ mode in the search for an answer for the management of these flows. However, the divergences between Member States put many obstacles to the construction of a comprehensive and coherent policy within the EU. Furthermore, the growing populism and xenophobia in the eu, translates into the adoption of increasingly more restrictive measures by the Member States.
