This prototype was designed to split the Fuentillejo Maar core (FU-1) in half for palaeoclimate research. The application of the principle of electroosmosis for cutting unconsolidated clay-rich sediments reduces distortion during the division process. The Geological Survey of Spain (IGME) has the patent rights of this prototype designed.spaDivision longitudinal de sondeos de investigación paleoclimática realizados en registros sedimentarios sin consolidar ricos en arcilla.
