M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. Among them, there is a short, hitherto unknown and unpublished essay on Lorca’s dramatic art written in 1937 by Manuel Altolaguirre, a Spanish poet and editor belonging to the Generation of ‘27. A thorough analysis allows toidentify that the essay was published in 1937 and suggest that Altolaguirre wrote two versions of the same text addressed to Spanish and Soviet audience accordingly.
