We show that, as a consequence of the observer metamerism, a metameric color-match perceived by one observer may appear to be a significant mismatch to a different observer. It is also shown that, on average, the differences between the color-matchings made by two different observers can be estimated to be in the order of 2 CIELAB units.engTheoretical considerations on small color differences ascribed to the standard observer made on the basis of individual color-matching functionsjournal articlehttp://dx.doi.org/10.1002/col.20493http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/col.20493/abstractrestricted access535.6535-2612.84Color visionVariability of color-matching functionsSmall color differencesÓptica (Física)ColorÓptica fisiológica2209.19 Óptica Física2209.03 colorimetría
