After briefly reviewing the possible influences of Greek gastronomic poetry on culinary satires, we focus on Horace’s satire 2.2 and Juvenal’s 11th satire both having the «tenuis victus» as the main theme. The treatment of the topic is compared with Furius Bibaculus’ fragment 1 Blänsdorf.
