Humanit Soc Sci Commun 11, 1670. https://doi.org/10.1057/s41599-024-04179-810.1057/s41599-024-04179-8https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14352/113210In this article, a claim for transdisciplinary in economics is put forward, pleading for a change of paradigm in economics and the introduction of a new area of study, physiconomics. William Stanley Jevons is presented as a forerunner of this transdisciplinary view. He introduced an emphasis on the importance of the relationship between economics and other social sciences. However, the article is not a historical re-evaluation but an intellectual discussion encouraging the emancipation of economics from engineering in favour of physics, sociology, law and psychology.engAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Physiconomics and a claim for transdisciplinarity in economicsjournal article2662-9992https://doi.org/10.1057/s41599-024-04179-8https://www.nature.com/articles/s41599-024-04179-8?utm_source=rct_congratemailt&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=oa_20241218&utm_content=10.1057/s41599-024-04179-8open access330.8536B4Y80transdiciplinarityphysiconomicsJevons paradoxEconomíaFísica (Física)53 Ciencias Económicas22 Física
