Abstract
This academic thesis aims to track current technological developments, a solution that springs from the earth itself to combat what is threatening it. We are discussing the energy sector, specifically renewable energy, which counterbalances the acceleration of environmental degradation. As the title suggests, we seek to examine the potential impact of government laws on the renewable energy sector. We will pay special attention to solar energy, an emerging resource that is moving toward a prosperous future in order to combat the objectives agreed upon in government reports and international treaties. To focus and situate ourselves, we will begin with a brief introduction, then explain the methodologies used, followed by a description of the regulatory context of the countries under study, in order to conduct a comprehensive comparison. The chosen objects of analysis and comparison are Spain and China, with their respective regulations or strategic plans for the energy sector. We will choose the most recent to explain their content, the impact they have had or are having, and how they relate to each other or to global visions of humanity. The expected results of this research are graphs showing the evolution of the renewable energy sector, the degree of development of energy resources in relation to the state support invested, and a comparison of the differences between the indicators of each country under study, among other results we may obtain.
