Abstract
La presente tesis doctoral se centra en la evaluación de la competencia docente en STEAM (Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Arte y Matemáticas) en el profesorado de Educación Secundaria principalmente en España. La educación STEAM ha ganado relevancia en los últimos años debido a su enfoque interdisciplinario, que busca preparar a los estudiantes para enfrentar los desafíos del siglo XXI mediante la integración de conocimientos y habilidades de diversas disciplinas. La fundamentación teórica del estudio ha permitido recabar información acerca del enfoque STEAM en el mundo, analizando de qué forma se implementa y los marcos teóricos que hay al respecto. Además, se ha examinado el constructo de competencia docente para poder ver qué factores son los más cercanos a la competencia docente en STEAM. This doctoral thesis focuses on the assessment of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) teaching competence in Secondary Education teachers mainly in Spain. STEAM education has gained relevance in recent years due to its interdisciplinary approach, which seeks to prepare students to face the challenges of the 21st century by integrating knowledge and skills from different disciplines. The theoretical underpinning of the study has allowed us to gather information about the STEAM approach in the world, analysing how it is implemented and the theoretical frameworks that exist in this regard. In addition, the construct of teaching competence has been examined in order to see which factors are closest to teaching competence in STEAM. For this purpose, different active learning methodologies have been broken down and Project Based Learning has been closely related to the STEAM approach because of its presence in classroom implementation...
