Abstract
In geriatric centers for the elderly, patients have multiple pathologies and the average consumption of medicines is higher than that corresponding to those who continue to live at home. The manual administration of these drugs is a common practice in geriatric centers without the intervention of the pharmacist. This practice has an impact on patient safety because it is associated with dose errors, noncompliance with the dosage, incorrect interpretations of medical indications and Lack of organization of inventories. Faced with this, the use of the personalized automated dosing system (SPDA) carried out by community pharmacists in the pharmacy has been proposed. These robotic blistering systems constitute a new technology capable of reducing the time necessary for the preparation and distribution of medicines in individual doses...
