Los riesgos geológicos en la infraestructura del ferrocarril

Abstract

RESUMEN: Las sociedades avanzadas tienen, entre otras características, la preocupación por el medio ambiente y la seguridad de sus ciudadanos. Las empresas ferroviarias no son ajenas a esta demanda social y vienen realizando de modo sistemático estudios de riesgos geológicos que eviten o minimicen los daños a la infraestructura ferroviaria, reduciendo así el riesgo para su pasaje. RENFE, en España, y los ferrocarriles japoneses en su región geográfica, son pioneras en el empleo de técnicas y metodologías para el estudio de los riesgos geológicos y su mitigación.

ABSTRACT: An advanced Society has among other characteristics the preoccupation for the environment and for the safety of their citizens. Railway companies are aware of this social demand and have been carrying out systematic studies of geological hazards to avoid or minimise demage to the railway infraestructur, thus reducing the risk for their passengers. RENFE in Spain and the Japanese railway company in their respective regions are pioneers in the employment of techniques and methodologies to study and mitigate geological hazards.
