Abstract
RESUMEN: La Edad Moderna, y los conflictos que contribuyeron a darle forma y desarrollo, han sido, durante siglos, una inagotable fuente de inspiración para distintas manifestaciones culturales. La literatura y el folclore han sido dos de los campos que más se han beneficiado de lo que sucedió en Europa durante esos siglos. Los ejemplos que se pueden enumerar son extensos, y su legado perdura hasta el día de hoy. En el campo concreto del folclore, determinadas festividades seculares nacidas durante este período histórico son todavía celebradas en el siglo XXI. El objetivo del presente artículo es ahondar en una de esas festividades (la Soldadesca de Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón) desde un punto de vista interdisciplinar que aúna Historia y Literatura. Ambas disciplinas son necesarias para conocer de modo completo cualquier manifestación humana (junto con otras, qué duda cabe), por lo que su utilización conjunta aportará un nuevo e interesante punto de vista sobre una de las tradiciones más arraigadas de la Provincia de Albacete.
ABSTRACT: The Early Modern period, and the conflict that contributed to shaping and developing it, have been, during the last centuries, a very fruitful source of inspiration for diverse cultural manifestations. Literature and folklore can be counted among the fields that more clearly have benefited from what happened in Europe during those centuries. Examples are numerous, and their legacy is still visible today. For instance, dealing with folklore, certain festivities born during the Early Modern period are still celebrated during the 21st century. The objective of the present article is to explore how one of the aforementioned festivities (the «Soldadesca» celebrated in Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón) can multidisciplinary understood via History and Literature. Both disciplines are necessary to comprehend any human creation (among many others, beyond any doubt); thus, their unitary utilization will offer a new and interesting point of view over one of the most popular traditions of the Province of Albacete.
