Abstract
ABSTRACT: The study argues that Alfonso de Cartagena, in response to the events in Toledo in 1449 and based on the civic humanism he developed during the reign of John II, presents, in the "Defensorium unitatis christianae", a proposal from political philosophy that offers both conceptual and operational elements aimed at conferring a humanist turn to the configuration of social life, in which the jewish converts would have full rights.
