Abstract
La conciencia ecológica se construye a base de creencias, ya tengan éstas una base científica o ficcional. La divulgación de los conocimientos científicos adolece de la seducción emocional que tienen las narrativas de ficción, que pueden llegar a ser mucho más influyentes a la hora de crear una consciencia ecológica. Así, los aspectos psicológicos con los que nos relacionamos con el paisaje son determinantes para la conservación del medioambiente, pues la consciencia ecológica se proyecta a menudo en utopías ficcionales que recogen la necesidad de la especie humana por conectar con lo transcendente. La neuro-teología ha señalado como el cerebro humano está preparado para experiencias místicas, y éstas se proyectan en la construcción de la naturaleza utópica: el holismo, la conexión de nuestra glándula pineal con los campos magnéticos de la Tierra y la llamada Noosfera, son sólo algunos de estos aspectos transcendentales que se construyen en torno a una consciencia ecológica que acaba por alterar comportamientos personales y colectivos además de modificar sistemas de explotación en áreas sensibles o amenazadas.
Abstract
Eco-consciousness has its foundation on beliefs, no matter whether these beliefs have a scientific or a fictional base. While science increases our knowledge on nature, those narratives that create “fictional ecology” seduce us in an emotional way. That is why a fictional story could become much more influential in creating an ecological consciousness. Thus, our psychological emotions –aroused by that “fictional ecology”-- could be determine for the preservation of the environment. Neuro-theology has pointed out how the human brain is prepared for mystical experiences, and these are projected in the construction of the utopian nature: Holism, connection of our pineal gland with the magnetic fields of the Earth, and the so-called Noosphere are just some of these aspects that are analysed in this paper. These fictional utopias --that usually reflects the need for humankind to connect with the transcendent level of knowledge-- have the power to arise ecological values on us and, therefore, may contribute to change the way we related to the environment.
