Abstract
El objetivo principal de la Tesis es contribuir al conocimiento de la Zona Circumpolar Norte de Marte mediante el análisis de las regiones de Scandia y Olympia Undae. Para ello, se plantearon los siguientes objetivos operativos: 1. Desarrollo de una metodología para localización, análisis morfométrico y clasificación de edificios de pequeño y mediano tamaño presentes en la zona de estudio. 2. Análisis de la aplicabilidad de datos de radar SHARAD para complementar esta metodología mediante el estudio de radargramas. 3. Creación de un banco de datos con las estructuras analizadas. Elaboración de mapas de estructuras para mejorar las descripciones topográficas y geológicas.4.Aplicación al estudio del efecto de la superficie en la propagación de ondas de radio en la atmósfera marciana.5.Aplicación al estudio detallado de las dunas y los vientos en Olympia Undae y su interacción con las estructuras de esa zona...
The main objective of the Thesis is to contribute to the knowledge of the Northern Circumpolar Zone of Mars through the analysis of the Scandia and Olympia Undae regions. To this end, the following operational objectives were set: 1. Development of a methodology for location, morphometric analysis and classification of small and medium-sized structures present in the study area. 2. Analysis of the applicability of radar data to complement this methodology by means of the study of radargrams obtained by the SHARAD radar. 3. Creation of a database with the landforms analysed. Elaboration of structure maps to enrich topographic and geological descriptions. 4. Application to the study of the surface effect on the propagation of radio waves from MARSIS radar. 5. Application to the detailed study of the dunes and winds in Olympia Undae and their interaction with the SD and IS structures in that area...
