Aims: The present study aims to explore and describe the situations of discrimination suffered by trans people, as well as to know the coping strategies they use in such situations, since most of them are unique to this population. Methods: for this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted in Spain based on Meyer’s model and a Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) was realized with RStudio software to obtain categories that reflect the discrimination situations suffered, and the coping strategies used. Results: The participants report having suffered from distal and proximal stressors as defined by the model. Conclusion: the study highlights the need for health professionals to develop a deeper awareness of the experiences of discrimination suffered by trans people and the coping strategies used to carry out adequate treatment of this population.
