Los anfíboles de los volcanes de las islas Columbretes (Mediterráneo occidental)

Abstract

In all the Columbretes islands there are rocks with amphiboles, in many cases in accidental fragments within the tuffs. All of them are magnesium-hastingsites, more or less zoned and reabsorbed. The amphiboles of the central islands of the main N-S alignment have formed at lower temperature and pressure than the rest. The calculated formation depths are approximately the Moho depth for the area.

En todas las islas Columbretes aparecen rocas con anfíboles, en muchos casos en fragmentos accidentales dentro de las tobas. Todos ellos son magnesio-hastingsitas, más o menos zonadas y reabsorbidas. Los anfíboles de las islas centrales de la alineación principal N-S, se han formado a menor temperatura y presión que el resto. Las profundidades de formación calculadas son aproximadamente las de la profundidad del Moho para la zona.
