Abstract
El procesamiento morfológico durante el reconocimiento visual de palabras se ha venido estudiando de manera sistemática desde los años 70, a raíz de la publicación del trabajo seminal de Taft y Forster (1975). Desde entonces, la literatura específica se ha ido enriqueciendo mediante su estudio en distintas lenguas y en diferentes contextos experimentales. Pese a ello, aún persisten una serie de cuestiones sin resolver que han generado un amplio debate entre los investigadores. Una de ellas es el papel que desempeña la variable de transparencia semántica durante el reconocimiento léxico visual de palabras morfológicamente complejas en etapas tempranas del procesamiento. Los resultados obtenidos en los diferentes trabajos publicados hasta ahora resultan contradictorios y, a raíz de ello, han surgido dos propuestas teóricas, totalmente antagónicas, que defienden distintos mecanismos de segmentación de las palabras morfológicamente complejas para el acceso al léxico. Morphological processing during visual word recognition has been studied systematically since the 1970s, following the publication of the seminal work of Taft and Forster (1975). Since then, the specific literature has been enriched by studying it in different languages and in different experimental contexts. Despite this, there are still a number of unresolved questions that have generated much debate among researchers.
