La productividad española: características y sus causas (1995-2013)

Abstract

El objetivo del presente ensayo es comprender algunos de los determinantes que afectan el comportamiento de la productividad laboral española además de describir sus características. Se discuten algunas de las explicaciones ofrecidas por la literatura económica y se analizan algunas posibilidades, encontrando que el tamaño empresarial y la distribución de valor añadido entre grupos de tamaño es uno de los determinantes principales de la productividad.The objective of this essay is to understand some of the determinants that affect the behavior of Spanish labor productivity as well as describe its characteristics. It discusses some of the arguments offered by the economic literature and some possible explanations are analyzed finding that size of companies and its share in the value added by groups of size is one of the most influent determinants on productivity.
