Abstract
This theoretical-practical research reflects on the role of materials in the understanding of the territory, turning it into an environment of social and cultural conception. In this way, the study of the territory and the materials that constitute it become a tool for recognition of societies. This project proposes a shift of focus towards the study of materials to redefine our relationship with the territory. As a case study, the installation Cobijo (2024) and the graphic piece Manual para Cobijo (2024) are presented, which examine the current situation of mining activity in the Cerros Orientales of Bogotá in Colombia.
