Abstract
This Master's Thesis contextualizes the evolution and fundamental concepts of digital art as well as the conservation issues it raises. It also analyzes the specific risks of Software art and the problems of the current legal framework on which this type of artistic production is based. Finally, it develops a case study around the work Catharsis (2022) by the Spanish artist Dario Lanza, which constitutes the first long-structured evolutionary algorithm on the blockchain. The study includes information gathered through direct interviews with the artist, documents the work in depth and analyzes the main conservation problems it faces, providing a conservation proposal that considers both the tangible and intangible dimensions of the work.
