Abstract
This essay addresses female labour in the Late Medieval ceramic industry through the case of various businesses of this trade in the city of Barcelona during the early sixteenth century. Their activity can be known in detail relying on an exceptional source, the debt registry of a ceramicist master, Nicolau Reiner. In historiography, this book is known as Llibre de les fornades. This document reveals the active involvement of his wife, Constança, in the business management, as well as the presence of a wide range of women (wives, mothers, mothers-in-law, maids, etc.) linked to this and other ceramic businesses active at the moment.
