Abstract
“Artificiality” arises as a result of the union of an artistic work and a theoretical research developed simultaneously. It is part of a line of work initiated previously to which new contributions are added within the field of contemporary graphics. The existence of an aesthetic ideal is a social construction that objectifies and pigeonholes the female body according to its physical appearance. Several issues are analyzed, but the central point is the idea of the body as a reflection and the aesthetic model, based on the union between identity and body. From this affirmation, concepts such as porfinication, objectification and depersonalization are analyzed, qualities proposed by the beauty model, which lacks identity and is based on bodily artificiality. In addition, attending to the idea of identity and body, a small approach to body topography is made, appreciating the naturalness and diversity of the body. This involves a theoretical-practical work methodology that relies on the collaboration of the viewer, conducting workshops and inviting the public to participate, exploring art as an educational and participatory activity to generate social change and create a new imaginary. As a result, a graphic work has been generated that criticizes different issues in relation to the main theme and defends corporal diversity. This has raised awareness about the existence of an aesthetic ideal.
