Calx Hybrĭda: narrativas interespecie para co-habitar la postnaturaleza

Abstract

La relación actual con nuestro entorno está llegando a su límite. Nuevas realidades necesitarán de nuevos paradigmas que deberemos construir de manera colectiva, desantropocentralizada y con herramientas diferentes a las que habíamos utilizado hasta el momento. Reflexionando sobre el concepto romántico de lo sublime como precursor principal del binomio Naturaleza-cultura, y pasando por la exploración de lo sublime tecnológico contemporáneo, calx hybrĭda tratará de generar una serie de narrativas superpuestas en torno a un objeto postnatural: una roca caliza situada en un parque público al sur de la ciudad de Madrid. La roca se constituye en su entorno como artificio, como elemento que, junto a otros, ayuda a generar la ilusión de naturaleza dentro de un espacio urbano. Dentro de su contexto capitalista, su único valor reside en esa función. Como ejercicio de desantropocentralización, empatía y pensamiento situado, este proyecto pretende explorarla desde otros puntos de vista, otras finalidades, otras asignaciones de valor, otros usos y relaciones. Calx hybrĭda se propone como una investigación artística de dibujo experimental que gira en torno al lenguaje y la importancia de las narrativas, situando al artista como mediador o traductor de las diferentes perspectivas. A través de una serie de narrativas interespecie, superpuestas pero no jerarquizadas, el proyecto pretende desantropocentralizar los relatos contemporáneos para germinar futuros especulativos que generen miradas alternativas dentro de la crisis climática.

Our current relationship with our environment is reaching its limit. New realities will need new paradigms that we must build in a collective, deanthropocentralized way, and with different tools from the ones we have used so far. Reflecting on the romantic concept of the sublime as the main precursor of the Nature-culture binomial, and exploring through the contemporary concept of the technological sublime, calx hybrĭda will create a series of overlapping narratives around a postnatural object: a limestone in a public park located south of the city of Madrid. The limestone inhabits its environment as an artificiality, as an element that, together with others, helps create the ilusion of nature inside of an urban space. As part of its capitalist context, its only value resides on this function. As a deanthropocentralizing strategy, empathetic and situated thinking, this project will explore the postnatural limestone from different points of view, various purposes, distinct value assignments, other uses and relationships. Calx hybrĭda is an artistic research of experimental drawing revolving around language and the importance of narratives, placing the artist as a mediator or translator for the different perspectives. Through a series of interspecies narratives, overlapping but non-hierarchical, this project aims to deanthropocentralize contemporary tales to germinate speculative futures that can generate alternative gazes inside the climate crisis.
