Abstract
This Final Degree Project reviews the current status of the latest techniques proposed in the blockchain system Ethereum to provide scalability to its network, one of the most important problems in current blockchain systems. Specifically, it studies in depth the Sharding technique, originally from the databases field, as well as its different variants. A prototype decentralized application has also been developed to explore the state of development of this technique and draw conclusions about its operability in the current scenario.
