Escultura hacia la cuántica (2000-2020) : una nueva abstracción

Abstract

A lo largo de la presente investigación Escultura hacia la cuántica (2000-2020): Una nueva abstracción, se estudia la evolución del diálogo entre arte y ciencia implicado en el insaciable deseo de conocimiento del ser humano a lo largo de la historia de la humanidad. A través de una contextualización científico-artística, se identifica cómo los grandes descubrimientos en física de principios del siglo xx generan un cambio de paradigma en la visión de la realidad, provocado por y desde las teorías de la relatividad de Einstein y el trabajo de Planck —que supuso el inicio de la mecánica cuántica— hasta los últimos descubrimientos en astrofísica y física de partículas. En el arte de vanguardias se analizan movimientos directamente influidos por los descubrimientos científicos contemporáneos a ellas, haciendo hincapié en los artistas y obras más representativas vinculados a los conocimientos de la época. El desarrollo del acto creativo da paso a la abstracción como elemento simbólico o metafórico transformador, y se constata una transición del objeto artístico aislado del entorno a la imbricación de la materia con el espacio que, junto con la implicación del espectador, da lugar a las primeras instalaciones artísticas...

This research, Sculpture towards the quantum (2000-2020): A new abstraction, studies the evolution of the dialogue between art and science involved in the insatiable desire for knowledge of the human being throughout the history of humanity.Through a scientific-artistic contextualization, it is identified how the great discoveries in physics of the early twentieth century generate a paradigm shift in the vision of reality, caused by and from Einstein’s theories of relativity and Planck’s work, which marked the beginning of quantum mechanics, to the latest discoveries in astrophysics and particle physics. In avant-garde art, movements directly influenced by the scientific discoveries of the time are analyzed, highlighting the most representative artists and the works linked to the scientific knowledge of the time. The development of the creative act leads to abstraction as a transformative symbolic or metaphorical element. A transition from the artistic object isolated from the environment to the imbrication of matter with space is observed, which, together with the implication of the beholder, gives rise to the first art installations...
