Abstract
Luis Rosales' poetic language reveals a distinctly illuminating aspect of the poet's worldview: the utilization of symbols. In addressing this work, we have set the following general objectives: to deepen our understanding of his creation and his poetic language; to analyze the nature of symbolism in Hispanic lyric poetry and its main features from its origins to the 20th century, and to study the poet's worldview through one of his aesthetic keys—symbols—within the framework of this tradition, as well as his connection with poetic irrationalism. As specific objectives, we aim to: recognize the fundamental features of Symbolist aesthetics in 20th-century Spanish poetry and, in particular, in the contemporary poets of Luis Rosales, both from the Generation of '27 and those who, along with him, were part of the Generation of '36, especially those with whom he maintained literary and friendly ties; identify the main thematic lines of his poetic work and the symbolism generated from them, and assess the creative peculiarities of the author and his innovations in the construction of symbols...
